Juan Méndez is an artist from Spain. This time from the beautiful Galicia region. Juan was borh on December 15th, 1972 .
He started drawing young and he was very good at drawing portraits amongst other things. He collaborated with local magazines, schools and cultural programs by way of illustrations as well as murals.
He started university at 18 and studied Bachelor of Veterinary Science. That explains his full time occupation for the past 16 years as he is indeed a vet.
He became interested in motorsport in his teens, watching Formula One and a driver that impressed him most, Ayrton Senna.
He also has a great interest in photography and the great masters of speed caught his attention,
Still, he was not drawing cars, but enjoying the thrills of speed he loved his car and motorcycles, until a life changing event made him re think.
He had a serious motorcycle accident which almost cost him his life and it probably would have done if it wasn’t for his brother, also an artist, being there with him.
Despite the accident his love for speed, cars and motorcycles grew bigger all the time.
A couple of years ago he decided to started drawing and painting, after many years.
He first started with portraits and animals (his passions) and commissioned work. A year later he was drawing cars and motorsport.
He draws in his own style and uses pencil, crayon, oil pastel and soft pastels, acylic on canvas, oil on canvas....
